Dr Jacks is a highly trained orthopaedic surgeon with international experience in hip and knee replacement, sports medicine, and trauma surgery. Originally from Canada, he completed his medical degree at McGill University, followed by an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 2009. He undertook advanced fellowship training in Hip and Knee Reconstruction at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, University of Oxford (UK), before completing further fellowship training at the Perth Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Centre in 2011. In 2013, Dr Jacks was selected for the prestigious John N. Insall Travelling Fellowship, an internationally recognised program awarded to leaders in knee surgery, involving advanced study across North America. For the past 15 years, Dr Jacks practised as an orthopaedic surgeon in Victoria, British Columbia (Canada), specialising in arthroplasty (joint replacement), sports medicine, and trauma care. He has worked closely with the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, providing medical coverage at training camps and competitions, and contributed to medical coverage for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
