Sanj relocated to Western Australia in 2006 where he began his advanced general surgery training and obtained his general surgery fellowship in 2010. Sanj moved to the United Kingdom in 2011 to undertake post-fellowship training at two of the country’s leading Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery units. He spent twelve months each at the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh and the Royal Infirmary Bristol.
In addition to working within his private practice at Upper GI West, Sanj is an upper gastrointestinal consultant and general surgeon at both Fremantle and Fiona Stanley Hospitals. Sanj enjoys working within the public and private sector as is allows him to have a diversified case mix and proactively teach the general surgery registrars completing their training programs.
Sanj’s focus is on diseases of the oesophagus, stomach and gallbladder. These include laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery, surgery for gallstones, abdominal wall hernias, all aspects of oesophagus & gastric cancer, obesity surgery and endoscopy.
