Firefighters responded to fire which was reported just after 10am on August 20.
A South Metropolitan Health Service spokesperson said a fire was detected in a room within the ICU but was quickly extinguished.
The spokesperson said three staff members and a patient were undergoing clinical assessment following the fire.
It is understood a number of elective surgeries were cancelled due to the emergency.
A spokesperson confirmed patients were relocated from the ward where the fire started and there had been disruption to some surgical and outpatient services.
Short term ambulance diversions were also in place.
"Due to residual water damage and smoke impact some services will remain temporarily closed while remedial works are undertaken," the spokesperson said.
The emergency department remained open and accepting patients following the incident, however paediatric and adult emergency patients have had to share a facility.
Non-urgent visitors were urged to postpone their visit to the hospital.
